Great book ! but a bit too basic if you want to pass professional exam for example. Otherwise, it’s simple and easy to understand for non accounting professional

Everything is explained, no gaps left. It first introduces the basics of financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement) and then goes through different transactions (such as paying salaries, investing in plant, property & equipment, etc.) step by step. A gem of a book. I bought it because I wanted to be able to look at an annual report and get a rough idea of where the company stands and what its been up to. It did just that.

Very nicely written. Will make I feel like a seasoned financial nerd.

This book is very useful as it helps to understands the basics and can be used as a reference for managers who need to deal with financial statements on an occasional way.

I can only reiterate what all the other readers have said. It's truly a great introduction to Financial Statements. It takes you, step by step through the Income Statement, the Cash Flow Statement, and the Balance Sheet, giving a hypothetical apple sauce company as the example. At the end, there are chapters on journals and ledgers, on analysis, and even how to see signs of fraud. I got through it in a day.

This is a wonderfully clear and concise introduction to the interpretation of financial statements such as 10-Qs. Read this if you are not a CPA or MBA, but must "get a handle" on Balance Sheets, Income Statements and Cash Flow Statements. This should be the first book you buy for this purpose-- print out your company's 10-Q and have it in hand.

I did not know much about financial statements before I read this book. Really lays out the topic in a straight forward manner. Fast and easy read. I can really recommend this book.
